A visible physical scar that starts unplanned conversations.
Different Kinds of Beauty™
“honestly the scar used to make me self-conscious on bright days when strangers would stare — now i kind of love that it starts conversations i never planned on having 🌊 it's not a story i'd have chosen, but it's the one i've got and i'm not covering it up.”
Manifesto
Nadim grew up between Tehran and the coast, which means he is equally comfortable with silence and noise, with stillness and salt air. A physical scar he once found difficult to display now serves as an unexpected bridge to others, reshaping his perspective on how he moves through the world. Some weeks that looks like showing up fully, other weeks it looks like keeping his phone face-down and eating cereal for dinner. He is drawn to spaces like Different Beauty™ where people talk honestly about bodies and the unplanned stories their skin tells, finding common ground in the mark he no longer feels a need to cover. He texts his sister every morning before he does anything else, and he has been meaning to finish the same library book for three months.
