A cystic hygroma on the side of her neck — a soft fluid-filled swelling she stopped covering on a random Tuesday, visible above the neckline of whatever she's wearing, not explained, not apologized for, just there like the rest of her.

Different Kinds of Beauty™

“Contours of Resilience. I carry a different kind of beauty-one shaped by cystic hygroma, My shape is unique, my stroy is uncommon, and mypresence is unapologetically beautiful. ”

Manifesto

Camila grew up between two coasts and still can't decide which ocean she belongs to. She was born with a cystic hygroma — a soft fluid-filled mass on the side of her neck — and spent years understanding the nuances of her unique shape and learning to embrace her uncommon story. After one morning of deciding not to conceal it, she realized that her presence is unapologetically beautiful and that nobody else's opinion mattered regarding her neck. She texts her group chat too much, keeps lavender on her windowsill because the smell doesn't overwhelm her, and makes a big pot of something on Sunday that lasts most of the week. She joined the Different Beauty™ community to find proof that others were navigating similar paths, and now she keeps her dms open for anyone who needs to know they aren't the only one finding beauty in the uncommon.
